My brother Mike, wired the RCA preouts to the factory harness going to the BOSE amp for my rear fill. It worked. So if you want, there's another option. My DEH-P940MP has a cooling fan on the back. I'm guessing it's for the built-in 50W Mosfet amp. Yours will probably have one also. Agreed, 2V preamp output isn't worth using. If it was, I would have had my Kenwood KDC-95R repaired. It needs a new laser ($90) and a few capacitors. Estimated cost was $230. It's a sweet unit though. 4 1-bit DA converters, solid face, volume knob not buttons, no built-in amp, 3 sets of RCAs, remote control, green and amber illumination, neither of which would look good in a Z, and a really cool four numeral valet security code feature. Without the code, you CANNOT power up the unit. Agreed, a picture of the install would have made this a better post. I'll try harder next time. ---------
